• I’m getting presents wrapped for my cousin’s baby shower tomorrow. Mom and I each put together a quick card to add to our gifts. Here they are..

Image0206wtmkwtmk_1 I saw the most adorable card on display at Leadership, The card was the shape of the pregnant belly. I wasn’t sure how they did it exactly and couldn’t find any information but I loved the look so I just did a freehand drawing off the picture I had and mounted the belly silhouette onto a card!! Hope she likes it!! I used the Sarah Designer Series Paper for the shirt and background on this card.

Image0205wtmkwtmk Mom’s gift is all kinds of baby bath essentials so we though this card was totally appropriate. This card is a complete CASE, but I don’t remember where I saw the original idea… Thanks for the inspiration though :). We used the masking technique to put the baby in the bath bucket. The two sets used to create the baby are Baby Firsts and the Level 3 Hostess set Basket Full of Fun.  The Greeting , which I just LOVE is from Curvy Verses.

These should be the last baby cards I need to make for a while. Until she has the baby of course!! 🙂 Then I have to make a welcome baby card and if I can twist her arm Birth Announcements!! 🙂

  • It took me a while but I finally added some pictures of the make ‘n takes from Leadership. You can see them in the Check In Day at Leadership post.

You’ll also notice these pictures feature my new watermark in the top right corner of the photo! I love my new watermark, it’s so great!! Now when you print out an idea you like you’ll remember exactly where you found the picture – it puts my name and website address right on the picture :). Much nicer when you want to go back and read instructions or pass the idea along to someone else!

The watermark was created for me by Cindy – who has a ton of cute watermarks on her blog. Check it out if you’re interested in having a watermark of your own! She also has some great card ideas on her site!! Imagine.Dream.Create

  • My cousin’s baby shower is coming up this weekend, so of course I wanted to stamp her something as part of her gift. (Jeannie if you’re reading this before your shower, look away!!) She is decorating her Nursery with a jungle animals theme, so I immediately though of making her something to hang on her wall using the “Wild About You” stamp set. I LOVE the animals in that set, they are SO cute and happy!! They look great in bright fun colors or softer pastel colors.

I found a set of three white square frames at Target. They had black ribbons on each one to hang the frames by. I though they were perfect for a baby’s room. So I set to stamping pictures to fill the frames. I made the animals the same colors that they were in the nursery set. I changed things around a few times before I settled on the final design and I’m very happy with the final outcome.

Once the pictures were in the frames though I didn’t like the black ribbon, it just didn’t match so I dug out some Blue Gingham ribbon. I carefully untied the black ribbon and used it to measure the Gingham ribbon. Then I tied the gingham onto each frame. I think they came out SO CUTE! What do you think? Is she going to love ‘em?

  • Just a quick note. Lots of you have asked how you can easily keep track of when I update this site. There are lots of blog readers you can sign up for that will make it easy and you can find some of those under the Subscribe Links section. I’ve made it really easy for those of you who are’t super computer savy. There’s a subscribe by e-mail box at the top of the page. Just put in your e-mail address and hit subscribe. You’ll automatically get e-mails w/the updated information everytime I add a post to the page. This is different from being on my newsletter mailing list so you still need to subscribe even if you’re signed up for my e-mail newsletter! 🙂

  • I’ve been busy getting ready for Stamp Camp next weekend! I have lots of cute Valentine’s Ideas for you to make this month. It’s so much fun to make candy pretty and I love having something inexpensive and fast that I can make to hand out to everyone who’s special to me on Valentine’s Day. While you’re waiting patiently for this weekend’s stamp camp I though I’d give you some ideas to play around with. Here are a few ideas I got as swaps at Leadership.

Img_1969wtmk This first idea is so quick but really looks great! Cut some Designer Series Paper to fix a miniature candy bar. Wrap the paper around the candy bar and adhere the ends together on the bottom. Next Tie a piece of Ribbon around the middle and that’s it. Don’t you just LOVE the colors in the Loves Me Double Sided paper? The paper was designed to coordinate with Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose, and Taken with Teal. It also looks great with Pretty in Pink, Cool Caribbean, and Chocolate Chip. It was also designed to coordinate with the Sweet on You and Happy Thoughts Stamp Sets. You can see all the paper in this great set, click here.

Img_1953wtmk The next idea take a little more time but it’s so much fun. This is a small folded card and when you pull on the red ribbon a candy bar pops up. It’s another simple to make project with just a few steps.

    1. Create a card that folds along the bottom and use adhesive to seal both sides of the card so you have a little pouch. (Size the card to fit your candy bar)
    2. Punch a hole in both layers of the card near the top.
    3. Take a long piece of ribbon and feed it through both holes. Next push the candy bar against the ribbon, into the pouch. (You want the ribbon to slide in along the bottom of the candy)
    4. Tie a knot in the ribbon at the top of the pouch and trim the ends and you’re finished. When you pull on the ribbon the candy will pop up!

This last idea is one of my favorites. It’s a Nugget Box. The box slides out of a cute cover and holds Nugget size candy. You can make these great boxes in all different sizes to hold just about any amount of nuggets you want. If you want to give someone a lot of candy you can even size one to have 2 or 3 rows of chocolates. Here’s the instructions for one size of nugget box. This one holds 4 nuggets.

    Instructions

    Box bottom

    1. Cut paper to 4" x 7-1/4".
    2. Score vertically at 3 1/2", 2-3/4", 1-1/4", and 1/2".
    3. Score horizontally at 5-3/4" and 1-1/2".
    4. Remove the scored rectangle at each of the four corners.
    5. Holding the paper vertically, cut along the 5-3/4" and 1-1/2" scored lines up to the horizontal 1-1/2" scored line.
    6. Assemble box by folding along scored lines and adhering.

    Box top

    1. Cut paper to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".
    2. Score vertically at 4-1/2", 3-5/8", 2-1/8", and 1-1/4".
    3. Fold along scored lines, and adhere.
    4. Slide Box bottom into the box top and fill with Nuggets.

  • I’m finally packed and ready to go!! I’m leaving for Stampin’ Up! Leadership training in Houston, TX tomorrow morning! Leadership is a once yearly traning siminar that Stampin’ Up! holds for Demonstrators with a team. I’m really excited about going to leadership – it’s the first time I’ve been qualified to go and had the money to go at the same time!! 🙂 Everyone says that Leadership is the best event Stampin’ Up! does… I’m hoping I’ll bring back lots of fun ideas for big stamp camps and fun things to do with my team!

Image0179As with any SU event there will be lots of swapping, so I’ll be bringing home some fun ideas to share with everyone!! Time was short for me so I only made up 80 swaps to take along. I used the same swap that I gave out at the team meeting this month.

Watch my blog over the next couple of days to see some of the projects and Ideas I get at Leadership. I hope to be able to make a quick blog everyday.

  • What a FUN meeting we had tonight! One of my downline, Carrie, is expecting her first baby in March, so we started the meeting off with a quick baby shower for her! The team gave her a gift that every stampin’ mom needs, a Baby Monitor. Now she’s all set to stamp away while baby’s sleeping.

Here’s a picture of the card I made to go with her gift.

I also made a few favors to hand out to everyone. They got cute Onsies favors with Gummy Bears in them. I also made the bags full of baby hand and feet cookies. Ok well Mom made the cookies, we all know I don’t cook, but I decorated the bags. Here’s a look at the favors.

Once Carrie opened her gifts we moved on to normal Stampin’ Up! business. Then we finished up the meeting with our two make ‘n takes. Serana’s make ‘n take was a cute bag of Valentine’s candy with a to

pper. We got to use one of the new Sell-A-Bration sets!! Then Dawn had us each make a glass etched plate. It was lots of fun, but a little messy – I’m working on how we can learn this technique at the library. We’ll see. It may have to be a technique I teach at home!

The swap for this month was Valentine’s Card ideas. Check out the Photo Albumn to see the great ideas we traded this month.
