  • Hi Stampers!

The other day I dropped into Knitorious to pick out some fibers and work on tag ideas for the upcoming "Hand Stamped for Hand Knit" class.

I started off by looking through the yarn bins at the store to pick out some fun items to embelish the tags we'll be making. So many choices – I could have continued picking all day – but I keep the choices to a reasonable number! 🙂 Here's the fibers I picked out to work with.

    Photo0082

Love 'em!!! 🙂 Can't wait to play with them!

I also put together a couple of tags to leave some samples at the store for the class – I'm not sure if we'll use these exact colors – I'm still playing 🙂 but these are a couple of the tags we'll be creating in the class. Sorry for the picture quality – I just did a quick snapping of a picture with my phone camera at the store 🙂

We'll make two versions of this tag

    Photo0080
and two of this tag – plus a few other tags!

  • Hi Stampers,

Here'a a chance to take care of the very first item on the top of every stampers wish list!
The chance to win a free Stampin' Up! stamp set of your choice.

How can you get your name into the drawing??
    It's REALLY simple!

That's all you need to do to be entered in the drawing for a chance to win the Stampin' Up! stamp set of your choice.

I'll enter your name in the drawing once for sending me your wish list before October 31st AND you'll get an extra entry into the drawing basket for each friend or family member you add to your list of people you want me to share your list with. The more people you list the better your odds of winning!!

I'll Draw a name on Monday November 1st so be sure to check back then to see if you're the winner!!

ETA: I've had a lot of great responce to the wish list free stamp drawing – but a few of you asked if you could wait until after Halloween to get your lists in 🙂 If you 're like me – you can't think Christmas until after Halloween. And I get that!! So I'm going to extend this one more week – finish up your list and e-mail them to me before November 7th – I'll do the drawing on November 8th!

We Have Our Winner!! Congrats to Tina! I e-mailed you to get your free stamp choice. Even though the prize drawing is done it's not too late to send me your wish list! Pass it along to me and I'll let all your Santas know what you want this year! 🙂

  • Hi Stampers,

Ok you all know I scrapbook now and then, but I also LOVE another kind of preserving 🙂 .. At our house we love to preserve our Summer Fruits and Veggies. We started off years ago just making Pepper Jelly (one of our favorite holiday Hostess Gifts) and each year we try out a few new recipes for other preserving. Now we spend much of our summer canning.

We usually just label the jars with some boring white labels so we know what we made and when we made it. But if you know me – you know if I can make something prettier – I'm going to do it! So this year I decided to dress up the jars with labels made in My Digital Studio…

    IMG_2440

Don't those labels look SO pretty!! They were really simple. I used the Scallop Oval "Digi Punch" on different colors of Digi-DSP. Then I layered an oval Digi Punch over the scallop. I made the oval Whisper White and set the transparency to about 50%. Then just type the name and year. We printed out the page filled with labels onto Sticker Paper and punched them out with the Scallop Oval punch. Then just stick 'em to the jar. Quick, Easy, and so much better than our old labels.

    IMG_2439

It was a lot of fun to pick out the colors for the labels to match each jar. The Real Red was perfect for our Strawberry Jam and of course Peach Parfait went onto the Spiced Peaches. I'm excited to dress up some of the jars for gift giving this year!!

I didn't get a picture of it but one of my FAVORITE new recipes for this year was "Sundae in a Jar" Strawberry, Chocolate flavored Ice Cream topping to die for – It edged out my favorite Strawberry Jam this year. Do any of you have a favorite item to preserve?? Leave me a message and let me know what your favorite is…
