  • At each Create, Ink get together we have someone share a Make 'n Take card. Serena was doing the Make 'n Take for this meeting and she came up with a FABULOUS card!!

    IMG_2293

She was showing us how to make and use Shimmer Spray. It's a little bit like Smooch Spritz but more of a fine all over shimmer. Just place a little bit of Shimmer Paint into a spray bottle with Alcohol and spray onto the card stock. It really shimmers. It's hard to tell in the picture… this one shows the shine a little better.

    IMG_2342

See all the shimmer?? It's SO pretty in person. I would LOVE to show you all this technique in person – If you're booking a party with me and you want to see this technique let me know – it's a GREAT workshop card!!

  • SketchForChallengeMy very talented Create, Ink! team did such a FABULOUS job with our fall card sketch challenge swap. Take a look at the cards ideas they came up with:

First a quick reminder, we were working with the PPA35 sketch from Splitcoast Stampers.

They have a bunch of fabulous sketch challenges just like this one listed there. If you're ever in need of a stampers' block jump start – check out the sketches on SCS 🙂 .

I hope the swap cards have inspired your Fall and Halloween creating!!  I'll be back with another team meeting post tomorrow – you don't want to miss it!!

  •
SketchForChallenge Our Create, Ink! group meeting was last Friday. We were swapping Fall and Halloween cards this time. At our last get together we were talking about using sketches to help make card design easy so this time we choose an optional sketch to use for the swap card. I selected a sketch from Splitcoast Stampers for the challenge: the PPA38 sketch.

I decided that I wanted to play with the Wicked Cool stamp set for my card and came up with this.

    IMG_2279

Pleated ribbons are everywhere and I felt inspired to add some to this card, but it's halloween and I felt like the nice even pleats were too formal for the card so I changed it up a bit and did what I'm calling ribbon smooshing – I kinda just smooshed the ribbon into uneven crooked pleats and I LOVE the way it came out.

    IMG_2285

The ribbon adds some nice texture and diminsion to the card and it was so easy to do. All I did was run a piece of Sticky strip down the back of the ribbon and then work  your way across the card stock folding and sticking ribbon down. Then tuck the ends around the edge fo the card to finish it off.

I'll be posting the other swap cards from my team members over the next couple of days – so be sure to check back often!
