  • How many of you are home enjoying a Snow Day?? In Pacific, MO it’s snowy and cold, but it’s beautiful outside and warm inside! A thick blanket of snow covered the whole St. Louis area last night and I LOVE snow days – they are the perfect day for crafting. Everything is slow and peaceful – and just like magic everything around you turns pretty. It’s the perfect environment for creative thinking, very inspirational. I love to pull out my favorite stamping supplies and play on a day like this or grab my Stampin’ Up! Sketch notebook and work on sketching out project ideas for upcoming classes or gifts! Here’s a few looks off my front porch this morning … If you’re snowed in at home today too, post a comment to this message and let us know how you’re filling the day!

  • I had so much fun playing with Rub-Ons at stamp came on Saturday. The possibilities are just endless!! For many of you this was your very first introduction to Rub-Ons so I decided to keep things simple. I think we all loved the quick and simple jars we made. Here’s a look for those of you who missed club…

    20

The first jar idea we made came straight from Leadership. They had this fun idea on display and I loved it!! I filled my sample with Red Hots – You could really fill the jar with any kind of candy you want. It would make a great little party favor for a Birthday or Shower.

    18

The second sample we made is similar to the idea I sent out in the January Stampin’ Update! I though these would make a great Valentine’s Gift Idea. Add a coordinating card and you’re ready to go. For my samples I filled them with homemade salt and sugar scrubs. Of course you all wanted the recipes .. so here you go.

    Yummy Chocolate Hand Scrub Recipe

    • 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
    • 1 cup of light brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
    • about 1/2 cup of oil of your choice (I used Avocado Oil)

Mix the first 3 ingredients together in a bowl. Then start adding the oil gradually, mixing as you go, until you get the consistency of a thick paste. Fill your jar and you’re ready to go.

To Use: Apply it to moist hands, rub in a circular motion and rinse well. You’ll be left with smooth, soft, great smelling hands.

    Lavender Salt Body Scrub

    • 1 cup of Kosher Salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon of vitamin e (I just cut open a Vitamin e gel cap)
    • Several drops of Lavender Essential Oil
    • about 1/2 cup of Olive Oil (or whatever you prefer)

Mix all ingredients together. If the scrub is too thick you can add more oil to thin it out. You want a thin paste.

To Use: Apply to moist skin rubbing in a circular motion and massaging gently with your fingertips. Rinse it off with warm water. You should exfoliate about once every 15 days for soft smooth skin.

There are TONS of super simple homemade soaps, bath salts, and scrubs you can make. They are tons of fun to decorate and give with your Stampin’ Up! supplies. Here’s a website with a few more fun recipes Teach Soap .

If you find a recipe you love share it with us by posting in the comments section of this post!

  • By now you all can probably tell I LOVE to spoil the members of my Create, INK. team. The best part of my business is getting to help other demonstrators build their businesses and watch their stamping dreams come true! This year the weather put a little crimp in my spoiling plans – we were having an ice storm on the evening of our December meeting so we canceled it – that means all my end of year, Christmas gift plans went out the window!

But that’s OK – at the January meeting I just got do give extra gifts!! We had a great meeting looking at the fabulous swaps I had brought back from Leadership and talking about some of the exciting changes Stampin’ Up! has in store for us this year. It’s really a GREAT time to be a demonstrator. At the beginning of the meeting I gave everyone their late Christmas Gifts.

I found these fun mugs on-line and I KNEW they were perfect for my team. The mugs say "Creativi * tea" on the outside, the inside is a beautiful shade of purple and it says "The ability to be more creative while drinking tea" I love ’em! Here’s a look…

    Img_7369

I also had gifts to give everyone at the meeting from my Leadership Trip. They had so many great choices in Momento Mall this time but I decided on the cute little Stampin’ Up! tin with clips inside. I also picked up picture key chains that look like movie clapper boards. I though they were a perfect momento from my side trip to Hollywood and a reminder to them to Star in the Leading Role of their business (The theme of Leadership this year). I packaged them all in a bag made from SU Designer Series Paper – another project they demoed on stage at Leadership. Here’s a look…

    21

There are the clips that are inside the tin…

    23

And a look at the simple bag, without anything in front of it. The bag is so much fun to make It’s like wrapping a present…

    • Simply cut your designer series paper in half so you have a 12" x 6" piece of paper.
    • Score 3/4" along the long side of the paper. Fold it over and adhere it down. This will create the band at the top of your bag.
    • Place sticky strips along one of the short edges of the paper.
    • Find a small box, I used my business card box, a check box would be another great choice. Wrap the paper around the box and overlap the two short ends. Expose your Sticky Strip adhesive and attach the paper to itself
    • Just Now fold the ends of the paper around the end of the box – Remember this is just like wrapping a present. Use Stick Strips as your adhesive on the end of the box.
    • Now slide your bag off the box, embellish it and fill it with goodies!!

The first day started off with swapping and of course a trip to Momento Mall. They had tons of fun "Stampin’ Up!" items to choose from, You’ll see some of them at club. 🙂 Then it was off to pick up our Event Bags. This year’s bag is just adorable. It was created to look like the Ginger Blossoms Designer Series Paper – The outside striped and the inside a flower print! Everyone looked so cute running around with their Purely Pomegranate bags! The bags were filled with goodies, including out New Stamp Set! 🙂 A break for lunch and then it was off to stamp the Make ‘n Takes!

Day two was the start of the real excitement! It started off as normal with Shelli opening General Session with a warm welcome.

I had a day filled with classes and then in the evening I got to attend my first Manager’s Reception. Manager’s Reception is a Special Dinner that is held at Leadership for anyone who’s reached the title of Manager or above. I just missed qualifying for it last year so I was VERY excited to get to attend this year!! Each year they come up with something fun and different for the dinner. This year they whisked us away to the Empire Polo Club were we got to watch an exhibition Polo Match, complete with Pretty Woman Style Divit Stomping, Hour’derves, and drinks! We got to meet the Polo Players and then were treated to an elegant dinner where we also got another gift stamp set.

and this is the Beautiful Table Setting, complete with our gifts – a stamp set inside a Movie Film Tin to go along with the Hollywood theme of Leadership. Wow was I tired by the end of this evening! 🙂

The third and final day was another day of classes and then Closing Ceremony. And of course an invitation for us to join them at the next Stampin’ Up! event – Convention in July where they’ll be celebrating SU’s 20 year anniversary! If you want to know how you can join in the fun of Stampin’ Up! events contact me and I’ll tell you all about it!

  • I am really loving having new stamp sets to play with in January. It’s so much fun to have fresh sets with Valentines, Easter, and Spring Themes to play with!! Here’s a quick peek at two of the swaps I’ll be trading at Leadership Training later this week…

The First Card is created using the New Stamp Set Happy Heart Day. The Colors used in the card are: Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, and Basic Gray – A combination I LOVE!

    17

The second card is created using the Nursery Necessities stamp set. It uses another great color combination: Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, and Real Red – with just a little So Saffron thrown in for the Star. I used a flat wooden toothpick to create the mast for the sail on the boat. It gives some great dimension to the boat. (Sorry if the picture’s a little blurry – I was scanning without much time to play with the settings)

    16

Both of these sets along with several other choices can be earned free when you host a workshop in January. Check out the Sweet Treats Promotion for more details.

  • I know I’ve been very quite lately. Don’t we all get so busy in December and January?? Well things are finally settling down and I can start getting into Stamping and enjoying the new Stampin’ Up! Idea Book!! Another great "new" in the New Year is the much anticipated upgrade to my Stampin’ Up! Website. I just LOVE the new look and options that Stampin’ Up! is providing use demonstrators for our sites.

Click Here to take a look at my New and Improved website! 🙂

While you’re there take a minute to Sign Up For My Newsletter. It’s one of the great new features from Stampin’ Up! I’m working on consolidating all my various "e-mail" subscriptions but it’s taking some time and patients form me 🙂 .. The easiest way to ensure you get the new newsletter from me is to request it on the site yourself!

I’m getting ready to travel to Sunny (hopefully) Palm Springs, CA for Stampin’ Up!’s annual Leadership Training. I’ve been packing and stamping swaps all week. I’ll be posting some of my swap samples soon!

  • Another ornament option from this year’s ornament buffet.

This Clear Frame ornament is hands down my most favorite ever ornament that I’ve done for the Club Christmas Party. I LOVE the way they look hanging on the tree. I had many different color and design options for these.

Here’s one of them – A Snowman with Snowflake Frame. (Sorry if the picture’s a a little dark I was having some lighting trouble – it’s been so gloomy here)

    Snowmanornament

I also had some samples of using the frames to make Picture Ornaments. Here’s a look at one of those..

  • Here’s your first look at one of the ornament options that was avaliable at this year’s Ornament Buffet.

A big trend in home decorating lately is to alter large barn stars for hanging on the wall. When I saw these cute little Mini Barn Stars I knew right away that they would make the perfect trendy ornament for my Christmas Tree.

If you missed coming to the Ornament Buffet you still have an opportunity to hang one of these fun ornaments on your tree. You can purchase the ornaments already completed from me for just $5.00 each. (Postage is included in the price). Just click the Add to Cart Button below the ornament/s of your choice to pay through PayPal or E-mail Me.
