• Hi Stampers and Color Lovers! 🙂

With Stampin' Up!'s recent about the Color Renovation they expected an increase in orders for the retiring color products. The responce has been amazing! Everyone wants to be sure to stock up on their favorite old colors. As a result of the overwhelming responce a few colors have already sold out or been placed on backorder.

In reguards to the Reinkers and card stock orders here's what you need to know…

Reinkers will be available through May 31st.  Reinkers may be placed and backordered.  Backordered reinkers will be shipped when the supply has been replenished.  After June 1st, the reinkers will again be avaliable only as supplies last.

The card stock is a much more difficult process to manufacture.  There are not sufficient supplies to fill backorders.  As a substitute, Stampin up will fill backorders with textured card stock. Effective today, card stock supplies are as supplies last.

If you want to stock up on retiring color products (reinkers, card stock, ribbon, buttons, and more.), please place your order asap.

You can order online anytime directly from my Stampin' Up! Website.

You can also order through e-mail at InkyFingrz@aol.com or by calling (314) 560-0627

If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me!

A note for those of you worrying about the Blush Blossom Marker – As I understand it while Blush Blossom is retiring and will not be a core color SU will continue to offer this color as a Marker only for all of us who LOVE coloring our skin tones with it!

This year we'll get 5 New In Colors to play with. (You'll have to wait to see those colors – SU will announce them when we're a little closer to July.)

Fond_Farewell_Colors_US_031 You may want to stock up on your favorite colors that are retiring this June. If you use on of these colors a lot I would suggest a fresh Classic Re-Inker to keep that ink pad going for years to come and a pack or two of card stock in your favorite size. I'm sure Stampin' Up! will be offering these colors only while supplies last soon, so be sure to get those orders in early.

  • Every year the residents at my Grandma's Retirement Community put together Easter Baskets to donate to a food pantry that they work with throughout the year. Each month they make sandwiches for the kids lunches – but around Easter time they try to pull together some extra donations and make up several Easter Baskets for the kids who might not get any Easter treats. This year Grandma wanted to put something homemade in the baskets. So I started thinking up ideas for her. Last month at stamp camp I had done Paper Carrots as one of our projects and I decided that would be perfect to add to the kids baskets.

    IMG_1616-1

The carrots were created by Die Cutting a Scallop Circle. Click Here to download an instruction .pdf.

In the instructions I used Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive to create the carrots (that's what we did at Stamp Camp) but I wanted a softer look for the kids to go with the pastel jelly beans we found so I used Only Orange and Certainly Celery for these carrots.

We created about 70 of these carrots for the Easter Baskets

    IMG_1663-1

We had fun with Grandma making the carrots. Today they got together to assemble all the baskets and she said they were a HIT! Everyone was excited to add a little something handmade into each kids basket.

PS – Sorry for the yucky lighting in these pictures – it was a gloomy day and I just couldn't get the colors to come out right – Hopefully this was still good eye candy for you though! 🙂

  • Remember the purple fabric flower I posted last week? It was featured over on lollychops.com today! Lolly is doing a whole week of flower posts – If you like the fabric flowers I’ve made on here you HAVE to go check out her posts this week! Lolly took a picture of her flower in process so you can get a better idea of how it goes together!

    Today’s Featured tutorials:
Julie – Inkcredible Stamping – Felt Flower
Make It. Do It. – Wire Ribbon Flowers
    LollyChops – Flower Buttons

Let’s get started with the felt flowers from Julie…
This is what we call a curve ball.  Julie left me a comment yesterday around 4:30 letting me know that she had posted some of her flower creations to the Wall Flowers Week Flickr group.  You can see her creations HERE.  So of course I went to go look and low and behold…  I knew I had to make one of them eeeeeemeediately!

TTT_02 Without moving my computer even… I busted out my teal felt, my Sizzix Circles #2 die (the very one I used yesterday) and within 15 minutes I had a totally fabulous flower!  I don’t even have it framed…  I just made it cause it was totally awesome and totally EASY!

As my finishing center, I cut a 1 inch circle, beaded around the outside of it and glued two buttons (one on top of the other)… and KABOOM!

    Crista's Swap

    IMG_1577

Stamp Set: Garden From The Heart & Vintage Labels

I LOVE the coloring on this card – and Crista makes coloring so easy! And how versatile is that Vintage Label Stamp set. It was used on many of the swap cards and each one has a different feel. This time Crista used the stamp that coordinates with the Scallop Oval punch.
