• Stampin' Up!'s Convention is coming up next week. This year I'm going in spirit but I couldn't make it work to go in body! πŸ™‚ But I wanted to make sure that my Create, Ink. team members that are going to convention this year still got a little spoiling from me. So I got their gifts all ready to go and wrapped them up. They're now snug in the carry on bags of my convention goers with instructions to open them once they get to the Hotel (that's when I usually hand out the gifts – kinda a welcome to convention kick off)

I'll show you the gifts wrapped up but I have to wait a few days to show off what's inside – don't want to give away the surprise!

    IMG_2016

My wrapping for these gifts was a little bit of old and a little bit of new. I had some Treat Boxes left over from last year's Idea Book and they were a perfect size for the gifts so I dropped them in there and tied a Chocolate Chip Satin ribbon through the handle. I added a Vintage Tag stamped with the first letter in each of their names to the box and I was finished. So quick and easy but I think they look great and best of all they'll hopefully travel pretty well in their catty ons – I wanted something that would take a little abuse! πŸ™‚

Check back mid next week and I'll have a picture up of the gifts inside the box!

  • I'm so excited to create my very first card for my own Color Challenge Blog!! For my customers who are not familiar with color challenges they're really simple, the name says it all. You're simple being challenged to go out and create a project featuring the colors selected for the color challenge. It's a great way to inspire your creativity and stretch your stamping out of your own box.

The first color challenge is was to use: Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla. This is the card I came up with

    IMG_2037

    Stamp Set: Elements of Style
Card Stock: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla
Ink: Jet Black StazOn and Chocolate Chip Classic
Markers: Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, and Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals and Linen Thread

The Bird from the set is cut out and attached with a Stampin' Dimensional to give the card some depth and the sides of the layers were roughed up a little to help with a vintage look.

Go visit the Create, Ink Color Challenge Blog to see all the other samples created by my Design Team Members and to play along!

  • Welcome to our VERY FIRST Color Lab Color Challenge.

    ColorChallenge1
The inspiration for our first color challenge come from this Vera Bradley Beach Towel. I think the Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla create a Fresh Bright Summer Look.

Here's my take on this color challenge:

  • Back again with another of my Wish List items. This week it's the #1 stamp set out of the New Idea Book on my Wish List.

    116956LAviary
    Clear Mount: 120462 ($17.95)
    Wood Mount: 116956 ($24.95)

This set made the top of my list for one reason – the FABULOUS different bird cage shapes. I usually look for stamp sets that will give me a lot of bang for my buck and this one fits that bill.

I can see lot of fun cards featuring the birds from this set. The cages will make some nice tone on tone background stamping on a scrapbook page.

And the bonus of an Owl in the set is great – I love owls – they're my favorite bird (Well maybe Penguins are higher than Owls but it's pretty close)

What is your #1 wish list stamp set from the new Idea Book?? Leave a comment on the post and let me know!

    Happy Stampin'

  • Hi Stampers,

I'm getting ready to start kicking off the new Color Challenge Blog for the My Create, Ink! ColorLab!!!

I'm starting off the new blog w/a mini color challenge go check it out: http://blog.mycreateink.com/2010/07/suprise-me-sunday-1.html

  • Hi stampers,

Welcome to my very first Surprise Me Sunday mini color challenge. I love to give myself color challenges inspired from other items I've seen like magazine layouts. But my all time favorite type of challenge is when I just randomly reach in a box and pick out some colors, then challenge myself to put them together and make them work on a project. I love this type of challenge because sometimes it forces me to put together colors I would NEVER look at and put on the same project. Now sometimes it's the disaster I thought it would be πŸ™‚ but I'm surprised by how many times it actually turns out MUCH better than I thought it would. I've found many favorite color combos this way. So in the spirit of that color challenge I'm going to hold a mini challenge once a week. I'll simply click on the Surprise Me button on the ColorLab and take the very first color grouping that comes up. Then I challenge all of you to go out and try to put those colors together on a project. We're not going to do any awards for this one, it's not about being perfect – it's about trying out new colors together. I hope you all have fun with the Surprise Me Sunday Challenges

    Here's This Week's Colors

  • A couple of months ago I worked on some Wedding Programs and Favors for John and Lindsey. I didn't snap many pictures of their items since they were similar to some of the things I've done in the past but I did snap one quick picture while I was bundling everything up to send to them.

This bookmark favor is one of my all time favorite Wedding favor items ever. We created these favors to go along with a matchbox favor box full of candy. The bookmarks went together so quick and easy. It's a great idea for a Bride who's on a time or money budget (Isn't that every bride?!?!)

    IMG_1764

I simply printed a poem along with the Names and Dates of the wedding onto Whisper White card stock, then cut it into rectangles. I die cut Basic Black card stock using the Table Setting Die. The piece I used from the Die is normally used to make a napkin ring but I think it's a GREAT fancy bookmark – You can see the shape on the die…

  • Every year when the new Idea Book or new Mini Catties come out I think the question I'm asked the most from all of you is "What's on YOUR wish list?" You all like to know what's inspiring me and what products I can't live without. Now my wish list can be a scary thing πŸ™‚ It's long and ever changing and growing so I always have trouble giving an easy answer to that question!! So I thought this year it would be fun to start a little weekly feature on the blog where I'll share with you one of the items on my wish list and why it's there – what's inspiring me! So to kick it off here's the first Wish List Wednesday…

One of the first items that's always on my wish list is new punches! I'm BATTY for punches!

    CM678B

Punches make everything easier – no cutting required. I especially LOVE when a punch coordinates with a stamp set making it really easy to layer elements onto a card or page. I'm also always looking at the new punch shapes for new Punch Art ideas! This year there are two new punches at the very top of my list.

The Two Step Owl Punch 118074 ($16.95)

    118074L

and the Bitty Bat Punch 119279 ($15.95)

    119279L

I can't wait for Halloween to have fun with the Bitty Bat punch!

So there is a look at what's inspiring me and my wish list right now! You can view all punches available in the new Idea Book in my online store, Click Here and look under the Tools section. Which Punches are on the top of your wish list?

    Happy Stampin'

PS – Did you SEE the new punch holders for organizing the new style of punches?!?!? My heart skipped a beat when I saw them – new ways to organize my toys always makes me happy!!!

  • I'm a little slow getting these pictures up for you guys :). A couple of months ago I got together with some other stampers to help create favors for a United Way Fundraiser in St. Clair, MO. It was a really cute fundraiser idea – they called it The Power of The Purse. It was a dinner and purse auction. I donated one of my Scallop Square Quilted Rag Bag Purses for them for the auction and also helped out with the favors for the tables. We made the Nugget Purses (You guys remember we've done these at stamp camp before). Their color scheme was Black and Red w/Zebra Stripes.

    #26526347

We made about 100 of these purses in just a few hours – they go so fast. It really is a great idea for party favors! Here's a closer look at one of the purses.

Little favor gifts are one of my favorite things to make! If you're looking for ideas for party favors for your next event, fundraiser, or party e-mail me.
