• Hi Stampers,

The past couple of days I've been working on die cutting Cupcake Wrappers from lots of my left over and extra Designer Series Papers.

    IMG_3680

Don't those look YUMMY???? A simple little cupcake wrapper can make a great looking cupcake look even more fabulous!

I die cut the cupcake wrappers using the Perfect Setting BigzXL Die (See it Online).

I had stacks of Designer Series Paper left over from previous projects (Admit it you all have lots of extras laying around – We paper crafters can not get rid of anything) so I die cut and put together 20 packets of Cupcake Wrappers…

So know you're probably wondering why on earth I needed to put together so many Cupcake Wrapper kits??? Tomorrow (Saturday, May 14, 2011) is the second annual Food Bloggers Great American Bake Sale! You all know I'm not much of a baker (leave that to Mom and Brother) but I wanted to donate something to the St. Louis Bake Sale to help raise some money and I decided a great way to do that was to donate some of my Cupcake Wrappers!

If you're not familar with the Bake Sale check out this page to read all about it.

If you live in the St. Louis area, stop by Sappington Farmers' Market from 10am-2pm, You can look for my cupcake wrappers, buy some baked goods, and do your grocery shopping (Sappington will be donating a portion of the proceeds of Saturday's sales to Share Our Strength)!  Get all of the details and share the event with your friends on the Facebook event page.

If you don't live in St. Louis, you can participate in your city.  Check out the map of bake sales going on around the country.

  • Hi Stampers,

I've been away from my blog for a little over a week and I've missed you all! Many of you know My Grandma got sick back in February and we've been busy taking care of her and trying to get her well again. Unfortunatly she took a turn for the worse about a month ago and passes away last Monday. So I took a little blogging break for her funeral and to help the family get her apartment packed up. We finished up a few days ago with all of that and of course (as always happens when you have a lot of stress) now we're all getting sick and passing around an upper respitory infection…

But things are slowly getting back to normal and I'll get back into my stamp room to start creating again soon so I will have some new projects to share with you all!!

In the meantime I missed sharing some of the Craft Project Central Projects with you last week and I wanted to catch up on those because there have been some SUPER cute ideas so far this month!! Check out the projects for May so far…

    (An Embroidery Mystery #1)

    Obsidian, August 2010
    336 pages

    From the Publisher:

When Marcy Singer opens an embroidery specialty shop in quaint Tallulah Falls, Oregon, she throws a soiree and a Stitch-In. Soon, Marcy’s sign-up sheet for embroidery classes fills up and everyone in town seems willing to raise a glass—or a needle—to support the newly-opened Seven Year Stitch.

Then Marcy finds the shop’s previous tenant dead in the storeroom, a message scratched with a tapestry needle on the wall beside him. Now Marcy’s shop has become a crime scene, and she’s the prime suspect. She’ll have to find the killer before someone puts a final stitch in her.

Quick Thoughts on This Book From Julie:

This book was a super quick read and I LOVED it! I had already read book two in this series so I was familar with the most of the characters already – which helped me to read the book quickly. As you know I love cozies that are crafty!! Marcy gets pulled into the mystery in this little town and it's fun to get pulled along with her… You'll enjoy reading this book and if you're a fan of needlework or embrodery you'll love it even more for the fun little tidbits of craftyness sewn in here and there.

(A Candy Holliday Murder Mystery #2)

    Berkley (Prime Crime), February 2011
    384 pages

    From the Publisher:

Things start to boil over at the annual Lobster Stew Cook-Off when an award-winning recipe is stolen and a seven-time contest champion mysteriously disappears—leaving Candy no choice but to find out who in Cape Willington, Maine, would get steamed enough to break the law.

Quick Thoughts on This Book From Julie:

I had a hard time getting through the first few chapters of this book. It didn't seem to be moving quick enough for me, but once I got to the Lobster Stew Cookoff I was hooked. This was a charming little cozy – the author did a great job of capturing life in the small seaside town in Maine. The mystery was pretty easy to figure out but Candy and her friends kept things interesting!!
