Hi Stampers,

I'm here with this week's Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we were given a sketch to inspire our creations…

This sketch was a lot fo fun to play with. I like the label layer behind the square. 2012 Create Challenges-008It adds a lot of interest to a very simple layout.

I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of my You're My Type stamp set and it arrived this week so of course I HAD to play with it!

I love the Gray, Yellow, Black color combination and it worked well for this stamp set. I added a little distressing around the edge of the card layer to go with the vintage type writer. But I still wanted a little bit of a soft touch to the card so I added the ribbon and rhinestones. I really like the Juxtaposition (don't I sound smart when I use big words like that) or the dark colors and distressing with the rhinestone sparkles.

Don't forget to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to get more inspiration from the other designers!

While you are there, you can also sign up for the Create Occasions Edition going on right now! I hope you're inspired to play along with us this week! We love to see what you come up with!

This color combo is great, and one I don’t think I’ve ever used before. I was just surfing the internet for inspiration and came across your blog. I make cards for our troops through Operation Write Home and enjoy checking out card maker blogs from time to time. Great blog you have!
