Blog Candy – Nothing Sweeter – Winner Announced

There is nothing sweeter then a little Blog Candy!! Well Except maybe this adorable face!!

Before we get to the Blog Candy – I just had to share this picture of baby Ian. His mom says he has his daddy’s chin which is hiding under the blanket but I think it’s clear he has him Mommy’s lips and cheeks!! Just too cute for words!!

On to the Blog Candy! – I need a little help with a Mother’s Day project I’m working on so I though this was a perfect opportunity to offer up some blog candy!! Leave a comment on this post and tell me – What is special or great about Mom’s?? – I would love to hear your thoughts on your Mom’s .. but I also encourage you Mom’s out there to ask your children and share their answers too!! I will randomly draw a winner from all the comments next Sunday and that person gets to pick a Stamp Set from my prize drawer!!

    I was thinking about this the other day when I was toddling around with my son. I couldn’t imagine the endurance it took my mother to deal with a rambunctious three and four year old on her own (at the ripe ol’ age of 22) in the midst of a divorce and not go half-mad. I admire her tenacity…me, I can’t wait for five pm when daddy’s home!

    I love this topic. I am so Blessed to have such a selfless mother. I remember when I was young, every week she would drive all the elderly ladies on our block (4 of them) to the grocery store. She’d help them do their shopping and then carry all their groceries into their homes and help them put them away. She would also take them to their doctor appts. She kept a spotless home, always had good meals on the table for us, ironed all our dresses, and we always had a cookie jar filled with freshly baked cookies. They say that nobody is perfect…well they’ve never met my mother. She truly is. Linda SS

    Let me tell you, you do not appreciate a Mother really until she is gone! My mother and I were most of the time like oil and vinegar. She never missed an opportunity to make me feel I was doing something wrong. Well you know what? She is gone almost 12 years and sometimes when I am having a bad day I find myself picking up the telephone to call her! So for those of you that still have a mother….cherish it! I miss her dearly even though we sometimes didn’t get along. She was always there for me when I needed her, she treated us all fair…there are four of us and never did she give one more than the other! Call your Mom, tell her you love her, do something special and please try and have a good relationship because once she gone you never have the chance again!

    What isn’t so special and great about Moms? I don’t know about other Moms but mine goes out of her way all of the time to do the little things for me, sees something while shes shopping and picks it up for me, always asks the simple things that make me smile, and above all she seems to know how to handle every situation. I am blessed to get along so well with my mom, I can only help others are as lucky as I am.

    I have been blessed with the greatest mom. She’s 81 now and is still going strong. She has always put us three kids first and we always knew (& still know) that we are loved. My dad died suddenly in 1972 which left her to raise 3 children on very little money. We never knew until a few years ago just how difficult that was for her. She never complained, we always had lots of love, food, a warm, clean home and a mother who was and is always there for us. It’s because of my mother that I have such wonderful memories of my childhood. She is one special lady!

    I have the Greatest MOM , A few yrs back I had a car accident and then was unable to work for a while .My mother was always there She took care of my 2 boys She took time off to help out.6 months after the accident me and my DH couldnt handle all the stress so we seperated .ANyways again My mother was my ROCK she helped me so much emotionally ,Physically and FInancially for 1 year. She took my kids every other weekend so i could go out meet people . SHE was just Amazing and still is .SHe and My father have always been my Inspirations ….I hope that I could be The MOTHER to my boys THat she IS to me . TFS!!! I love reading about MOMs……I know I have been blessed with an amazing family .MOMs never stop ,The hardest and most rewarding job IS to be A MOTHER.

    Of all the things in the world, one that I would NEVER trade is being Mom to my Son. I would give my life for him…he is my reason for living and everyday I look forward to getting my morning hug and “I love you” from him. What could be better?!!!

    Moms? Well they are missed sorely when they leave this life. Moms can be annoying, overjoying, pleasing and supportive. But Moms are always, Always, ALWAYS there.

    My thought on Moms—being a mom myself has made me think more about the relationship between my mom and me. As a child, it was my Mom who built our relationship. She did most things and I just reacted to them. Now, as an adult, and as a mom myself, I realize that it is my responsibility to create and maintain that new relationship with my mom–my mom and me as an adult. I have to put time and effort into the relationship with my mom and make it how I want it to be. I have to do my best–and it pays out BIG dividends when I do.

    Moms…. they are mostly unappreciated and undervalued…. but when push comes to shove, you always know Mom will be there for you to do whatever she can to help. My Mom can be a P.I.T.A., but I know she loves me… and everything she ever did for me/do me was because she loved me.
    As a Mom, I know that there are days I don’t have to like my sons…. but I always love them. I don’t always like their choices…. but I always love them. I don’t always want them near me tugging at my sleeve…. but I always love them.
    Mom = love.

    no matter how old you get, moms know (innately) just what you need, just at the right time it’s needed, whether it’s an encouraging word, a little nudge in the right direction, or just a hug. as my mom gets older, i look at all the wonderful things she has been to me: strength, fortitude, encourager, teacher, booboo kisser, a shoulder to cry on. i appreciate every day i have with her and do not know what i will do when she leaves us to be with our Lord (hopefully not for a long time!) it just really makes you think about what kind of mom you would like to model for your own children. i love it when my girls just out of the blue say, ‘mommy, i love you, you’re the best mom in the whole world.’ well, i may not be all the time, but when they say that, it sure feels like it!!

    What a gorgeous photo of baby Ian he is just the cutest isn’t he?
    Well we had our Mother’s Day yesterday and my 6 year old made me a really sweet card, and inside she created a poem all on her own would not let her Nanny help or anything and this is what she put:-
    Dancing Mums, swimming mums, taking me to clubs mums, tidy mums, scary mums, taking me to football club mums, cleaning mums, caring mums, what a lot of lovely mums there are, silly mums, crafty mums, playing with me mums, fabulous mums, beautiful mums, thats my mum by far.
    How sweet and gorgeous is that? I was so chuffed and proud of her for this beautiful poem.

    My mother is always there for me and my sisters. I have a chronic illness and can’t support myself, so my mother lets me live with her and she takes care of all my shopping, dr. appts, prescriptions, and cleaning. I couldn’t do it without her!

    The very best part of being a mother is that you eventually get to be a grandmother. I have 6 granddaughters and 2 grandsons and they are the very best. I hope they feel the same way about me that I feel about them.

    If you ask my kids what is great about moms, I think they might say they have an open wallet-almost like their own personal bank. Well, I told them the bank closed permanantly last year because the borrowers were late or defaulting on loans. Just this week, daughter asked me for help with down payment on a house. I told her to raid her own 401. I dont want my kids to owe me or me to owe them. Altho I would like some grandkids, I wont beg!

    What’s great about mom’s is their patience! I don’t think this is unique to my mom. I can’t believe some of the stuff we’ve (my brothers and I ) put my mom through. She hung in there through the teenage years (it’s stereotype for a reason!) the know it all period and finally we made it to a place to be friends. Or I should say I made it to place where we are friends!
    Anyway great topic, I’ll be back to see what everyone says! Thank you for the candy too!

    Moms are always there for you, no matter what your age, what the problem, or when or where, they are always there standing behind you (sometimes kicking you in the butt!) but always there for you to lean on and to offer you support.

    Great idea for some blog!!What better topic than a “MOM”.Of course everyone has the best mom,so imagine all the great moms in the world…WOW…MOM upside down** I didn’t have a chance to become a mother due to health problems,but my mother was the best,the prettiest,the greatest…she was always there for us 5 kids.Even though she is no longer with us,she is watching over us,keeping us on our toes.I could go on and on but i’m sure you will have long comments to look at,so i’ll leave it like this…and MOM I LOVE YOU FOREVER!!!!!!xoxoxoxoxo

    What is special about a mother? HAVING HER THERE is the most special thing, but sometimes you don’t know that until she is gone. That is often a hard lesson.
    I too often start to call her to tell her something that is on my mind. She has been gone nearly 2 1/2 years yet it seems like an eternity.
    I can say that many of my traits come straight from her. She was a very good role model even though I didn’t quite do things that she liked. She was a fantastic grandma to our daughters, and she adored my granddaughter for the 8 months she knew her before she left us. All she wanted was to have her great-granddaughter be closer to home. We live in Illinois and at the time our daughter and her husband (and the baby) lived in Las Vegas. My mom was not well enough to ever see their home or go visit the baby. She did get to see her several times before she left us.
    Something to remember about a mom – even if it is not the thing you want to hear – you get to hear her. Noone can take her place – Ever.

    I am not a mom but pray that if I become one I am like mine. My mom is so unselfish- she has given up “stuff” so her two kids could have something (except for 2 Christmases ago-hehe). She is a Pastor’s wife which is often a thankless job but she does it with style and grace. She has supported me 100% in all that I do (even if she doesn’t agree with it). She loves my dad wholeheartedly and they have set an awesome example of what a Godly marriage should look like. As you can see- I could go on and on!

    My Mom was a very caring and giving person. She would give you her last dime if you needed it. When I was going through a divorce she took me and my infant son into her home to live. Then when I went to work she was my babysitter. It’s been almost 12 yrs. and we still miss you Mom…..

    My mom read and read to us! She would also make up stories and continue them each day. Both my mom and dad prayed together every night and what a wonderful thing to model for your children!
