• I had a Show & Share team get together this past week for my Create, Ink team and of course we had to have a swap! The minute I saw the Make a Monster set in the catalog this past July I had to have it!!! I've been itching to use the set so I decided to create my swap cards with it…

This card did triple duty for me, I used it as a swap – AND it goes along with this weeks ColorLab Color Challenge. And it made a perfect card to go along with a gift I just finished knitting.

Meet Ursula and Uma, The Understanding Monsters…

These monsters were a kit created by Rebecca Danger. (I LOVE her monsters – she just released a book and I can't wait to get started on a few new patterns from the book – it just need to get here!!)

I so excited about how perfectly her monster patterns and this stamp set match (I see more matching monster and card gifts in my future)

The Make a Monster stamp set comes with three different monster images and a bunch of different eyes, hair, horns, and more monster fun to decorate them with!

My first thought on this set is wouldn't it make adorable baby shower invites or birth announcements for a baby boy?? I have a few baby ideas floating around in my head – hopefully I'll get a chance to use them!

  • Back at the begining of December Stephanie and Derryl got married – I have been meaning to post this ever since but just got too wrapped up in the Holiday crazyness – so better late than never!! 🙂

I met Stephanie last summer when I wanted to host a 31 Party. She's a consultant – so if you're looking for one check her out! She was looking for some ideas to decorate her Wedding favors – so of course I was excited to help her out!!

Stephanie had already picked out some little chapsticks personalized with their info (a GREAT favor idea for a December wedding) but she wanted something to dress them up at each person's place for the reception. When I saw a little tent package made from the Two Tags die I knew right away it would be perfect for her – this is what we came up with!

    StephanieWeddingFavors

This great picture was taken by her Wedding Photographer – AbbieTakesPictures.com

We used the Big Shot to Die cut tags from the Two Tags die using Crumb Cake card stock.

Then embossed them with Perfect Polka Dots Textures Embossing Folder.

Trim away the bottom portion on each of two tags so there is just about 1/2" past the score line. Attach the two tags together and tie them up with some Linen thread and ribbon.

We used Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla along with some pearls to decorate the favors.

Then attach the Chap Sticks inside w/some glue dots.

I love the way these came out – and Stephanie had a lot of fun putting these together with her Brides Maids!

Congratulations to Stephanie and Derryl – Thanks for letting me be a part of your special day by helping out with an idea for your favors!

Looking for ideas to dress up favors for your wedding, shower, or an upcoming party?? I would LOVe to help you out! Contact me today – I can help you by finding an idea and I even have options avaliable where I do all the work for you!

  • Happy New Year – I hope you all have a FABULOUS 2011!!!

2010 was a BIG year for us at My Create, Ink! We were excited to get the Color Lab and the Color Challenge Blog up and running – we could not have done it without your support and donations. a HUGE Thank You! to everyone who helps us keep the color lab up with your contributions!

Our Techie (George) has been working hard to make the color lab run faster and work better for all of you and at the end of the year he unveiled Color Lab 2.0 – it runs so much faster!! If you have not tried it out recently run over and give it a try!! We now have a Combo Generator for Stampin' Up!, Close to My Heart, and Copic Markers

We have a lot of plans in place for 2011 including a Color Matching Machine that's going live very soon!! I got to play around with it a bit the other day and OMG you guys are going to LOVE it!!! George is wonderful and putting my ideas to work!! Here's a little look inside how we come up with our ideas..

Julie – At a totally random moment "Hey Brother – Wouldn't it be so fun if we could _______ (Enter vague idea here)?" Then I go on with my busy life and three weeks later…

George – emerges from the computer room and says "I have that utility you wanted working now"

    Julie – "What Utility"????

George – "Um, the one you asked me about like three weeks ago and I've been working on like crazy around the clock!!"

Julie – "Oh yeah!! Cool let me see it – oh By the way I was thinking "Wouldn't it be fun if we came up with a utility that would _____? Enter new vague idea here

George – Looks at me and walks away….

Can't you tell what a GREAT sister I am?? 🙂

Some of our ideas work out and some don't but we have a lot of plans in store to grow more utilities this year and we would LOVE to hear from you – if you have any ideas or request for Color Lab Utilities you can e-mail me or comment on the blog!

And don't forget your support keeps the Color Lab up and running if you would like to make a donation we really appreciate it. Just click the Tip jar below or you can always find the Tip Jar at the top of the page to help support the site!

  • Hi Stampers,

This morning is the Annual Christmas Stamp Camp for the Inkredible Stampers – As usual I've got some simple ornaments for everyone to make! I also have the gifts all ready for my Inkredible Stampers who have been club members throught out this year!

I used the Candy Countdown Calender Kits again

    IMG_2826

This time I made a Santa Owl (kinda like my Blog Banner!) for the front of the boxes. I fill the insides with some Pink Paper Shreads.

The gift this year was a simple one – I wanted everyone to have at least one of our FABULOUS acrylic blocks. So I bought everyone a size A and of course they needed a few stamps to go along with the block so I included a few stamps from the Jolly Bingo Bitz stamp set – I figure if someone has the set already – they've got a great gift ready to go for a friend… and if they don't have the set – well you can never have too many little Christmas stamps! 🙂

We would be thrilled to see our Monthly Stamp Camps grow – if you live in the St. Louis, MO area and would like information on our stamping dates next year so you can join us send me an e-mail!
