  • My Digital Studio-Printing Cards

       Q&A

Q:How do I print cards using My Digital Studio?

    My Digital Studio Product

A: My Digital Studio allows you to design a variety of card styles including traditional cards in several sizes, postcards, and even tri-fold cards. You can print cards on your home printer or through our professional print service. The easiest option, and the one with the best results, will be using the professional print service.

    Printing at Home
Once you design your cards in My Digital Studio you can print them at home, but it is a bit tricky since every printer operates a bit differently and prints colors differently. Even good-quality printers may not give the high-quality print and color detail that you’ll get with professional print services. When you design a traditional card in My Digital Studio, it actually has four pages – front, inside left, inside right, and back. It is great to be able to customize all four pages, but it makes printing at home more complicated. The easiest way to print at home is to print just the front of the card, cut it out and then layer it onto a card body just like you do when making a hand-stamped card. This also has the benefit of giving you a heavier weight card body since most printers cannot handle heavyweight card stock. To print the full four-page card at home, you’ll need to do a bit of experimenting with how your printer prints. You’ll need to print pages 1 and 4 (front and back) then re-insert the paper into the printer to print pages 2 and 3 (inside left and inside right). The trick is knowing if you need to just flip the paper over, or if you need to flip and rotate the paper. Each printer is different, so it will take some trial and error.

    Professional Print Service
You’ll be the happiest with the results you get from the professional print service. The professional print service neatly prints high-quality images on heavy card stock and includes a heavy-weight envelope along with the card. You simply upload the card using the link in the My Digital Studio program, tell us how many copies you want, and all the work is done for you. Plus, with our professional print service, the colors are guaranteed to match the Stampin’ Up! colors. So if you want to add on embellishments like punched images, buttons, or ribbon, they will all coordinate as they should.

    New Bulk Pricing
You’ve seen the $5-$7 cards in card stores. But how often are those cards exactly what you want? Now, with My Digital Studio and the new bulk pricing, it is easier and more affordable than ever to print your custom-designed cards just as you want them. Make your custom Christmas cards or baby announcements with photos and your personalized greeting. Design a card with your monogram or a variety of birthday, thank you, and blank cards to have on hand for any occasion. You’ll save on printing and shipping costs when you order a group of cards instead of just a couple, making your custom cards even more affordable.

  • Stampin' Up! Opportunities

    October 2011 Promotion
      Stampin' Up! Opportunities Q&A

Q: Can I join Stampin' Up! to earn extra income for the holidays?

A: Yes! The holidays are a great time to join the Stampin’ Up! family. You can start earning money right away by holding workshops. You can also offer classes as well as help customers with their holiday shopping and creating their handmade gifts. All of which are great ways to earn money. Because you choose what you do and when you work, you are in control of your time and your income.

What is involved in becoming a demonstrator?
Becoming part of my team is very simple. You can either sign up online or fill out paper forms to purchase and customize your Standard Starter Kit or a Digital+ Starter Kit. This includes signing the Independent Demonstrator Agreement and then submitting them online or mailing them in. Each kit is only $175 and is valued at over $300. The starter kits have the supplies you need to get started demonstrating lots of projects and products right away. You can customize your starter kit to include only holiday products if that is your focus.

    How much can I earn?
Just like most things, you get out of it what you put in. This isn’t one of those get-rich-quick schemes. Stampin’ Up! has been in business for over 20 years and is a great company with which to be associated. You can start earning money right away and as you meet more people and create satisfied customers, your income will continue to grow. Average workshop sales are about $300. Holding only 4 average workshops in a month, you could earn over $300. Not bad for a few evenings of fun stamping with friends and some planning and preparation time! And by working more, you can earn more. Of course, I can’t guarantee certain income levels, but you have control over the types of workshops, classes, and other services that you offer and how frequently you hold them, so you have the power to make the decisions based on your needs, your availability, and your desires.

Do I have to come up with all the ideas?
No! I’m here to share my experience with you, answer questions, and help you get off to the best start possible. Plus, Stampin’ Up! has a ton of great resources available to you on the demonstrator website including workshop outlines, training videos, workshop project ideas, and so much more.

How long am I committed if I join?
Once you purchase the Starter Kit, it is yours. Even if you never hold a workshop or place an order, you will have received a great deal on the products in the Starter Kit. So, if you decide the opportunity isn’t for you, you aren’t out anything. You will stay active as long as you keep meeting the quarterly minimums which are very achievable. If you don’t meet the minimum sales or choose to resign, then you become inactive. Simple as that, no hidden catches. But, I think you’ll find that being a demonstrator is fun and rewarding and you will want to keep receiving the perks, the income, and the special relationships that come as part of the demonstrator experience. Sale-a-Bration starts shortly after the holidays and, as the most popular promotion of the year, it’s a great time to grow your new business.

Are you interesting in hearing more about having your own Stampin’ Up! business? Let’s talk about it! Contact me today so that you will have plenty of time to get started before the holidays are in full swing, if you decide the opportunity is right for you.

  • Hi Stampers,

I created another Card Sketch for the Creating Pretty Cards Challenge over on Craft Project Central this month!

    IMG_4597-copy

For the inspiration card I created a spooky color scheme of Basic Gray, Lucky Limeade, and Rich Razzleberry! The Witch on the broom is from one of my favorite Halloween stamp sets this year Out on a Limb (See It Online) to create this Sending You Love card. It's an easy card to let a friend know you're thinking about them and you can easily change up the color scheme to something a bit more romantic for a card you can send to your special someone!

Here is the sketch I created and used for the inspiration card.

We would LOVE to have you play along with our Sketch Challenge this Month!
