  • PROJECT: Scarecrow Curvy Keepsake Box

    October 16, 2014

    Hi Stampers,

In my town (Eureka, MO) they’re having a Scarecrow Festival all month long. There are fabulous work of art scarecrows all over town! For my local readers – come visit one weekend in October and check them all out!! It’s a lot of fun…

So of course I had to get into the fun and make up some scarecrows of my own. Mom was going out to dinner last night and wanted to hand out some treats so we made up some Curvy Keepsake Boxes and dressed them up as scarecrows…

    Scarecrows

I one button for an eye, the top of the Tree punch for the nose and then used my Project Life journaling pens to doodle on the rest of the face! The hair was easy and FUN!!! I unraveled a bunch of Burlap Ribbon – I was left over with all that loose “Hay” with was fun to play with – and of course the long pieces hooked onto a bit of ribbon I didn’t unravel – I glued that onto the box and trimmed it a bit to create the hair.

I also wanted to add a crow to my box but still wanted to be able to open the box – so I added a Black Bird to the top of half a small wooden coffee stir stick – tied on some ribbon and it slides right into the box between the two handle pieces.

They each came out a little different but this one is my favorite..

    Scarecrow

I love love the way his hair’s flipping up!

If you have not seen the video for the curvy keepsake box yet – check out this post – it’s so easy to put a box together!!

  • PROJECT: Vampire Coffin Treat Pouch

    October 15, 2014

    Hi Stampers,

I love Halloween – and while my favorite Halloween Character will always be Frankie (Frankenstine) I also really love a cute Vampire….

I saw a Vampire Coffin Treat Pouch on Pinterest created by Allison who has a great Video on creating the coffins! And when I needed a quick project for my Create, Ink Stampers Team Meeting this was a perfect project…

I only made a small change to mine – in my world Vampires need to be light purple skinned… it's just the way it is in the world according to Julie 🙂 So I use the lightest Rich Razzleberry Blendability to color the image in.

    Coffin-Treat

The treat pouch is perfect for the Halloween size candy bars like a Kit Kat

The pouch is created with the Gift Card Envelope and Trim Thinlit die. You just need to do a little extra scoring and cutting to alter it to form the coffin shape. I've created a template with all the scoring and cutting marked out for you.

  • CARD: Halloween Street

    October 13, 2014

    Hi Stampers,

I made myself a deal to try to share more "just because stuff about me" on my blog… So here's one of thise – I'm a total Walking Dead junkie!! How many fellow Walking Dead fans do I have out there???? I'm so excited that a new season has started – Last night's episode was intence and I'm looking forward to seeing where this season takes everyone!

Today I'm sharing another card from September's Stamp Camp – this card was a CASE of a card I saw and fell in LOVE with!! A fellow Julie created this card… and the second I saw it I had to make one for myself – thanks for the inspirations Julie!!

    HalloweenStreet

The original card I saw used Dots in the background but I really wanted to play with my new Hearts and Stars masks so I changed it up a bit and used stars. I like the way it came out! I used the Brayer and lightly rolled over the stars mask to create a subtle – rough look to the stars in the background – you could also use a Stampin' Sponge and sponge the ink over the mask.

To stamp the Happy Halloween Greeting – I inked up the stamp with Tangelo Twist ink. Then I used my Blender pen to rub the ink off the area of the stamp with the houses and trees. Next just take your Basic Black Stampin' Write marker to add ink to the areas you just cleaned off – huff on your stamp a big and stamp! A quick and easy way to color your stamp!

For the Ribbon we stapled over the card I used some retired Basic Black Satin ribbon – but if you don't have any black satin ribbon this card woudl look FABULOUS with some Blackberry Bliss Stitched Satin ribbon used in place of the black – so I'll add that to my supply list below for you…

  • CARD: Wicked Shoes

    October 4, 2014

    Hi Stampers,

Happy World Card Making Day!!! I know we're all busy on the weekends – but try to take just a few minutes out of your day and create a card to celebrate the day – you'll thank yourself for the little creative break!

At my last Stamp Camp – Halloween was the theme of the day and this was my favorite card.

    Wicked-Card

The second I saw the shoe greeting in the Tee-hee-hee Stamp Set I knew I had to do a Wicked card. I wanted to give the shoes a little ruby red sparkle – so I added a very light layer of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to them.

  • PROJECT: Curvy Keepsake Pumpkin Box

    October 2, 2014

    Hi Stampers,

Last weekend at stamp camp my theme was Halloween. I love Halloween and this year we have some really great sets in the Holiday catalog so I was excited to get to play around with them!

The project I'm sharing with you today is one of the things everyone got to make.

    Pumpkin-Box

We created a Pumpkin with the Curvy Keepsake box – I've seen this box created in to just about anything you can imagine (Pinterest can be a dangerous place) 🙂 … If this die is not on your wish list yet – you need to add it!!

We used Work of Art to stamp siome pumpkin lines on the box and the Fall Fest stamp set for the Jack-o-Lantern face. You could also create cute place settings for Thanksgiving with this box. Just leave off the face and try out a subtler color scheme – like Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze.

The "Trick or Treat" greeting we added to the box comes from the Good Greetings Stamp Set. This set can be earned exclusively by Hostesses for FREE this month when they have a $300.00 party. (Get all the Details Here – then contact me to schedule your workshop)
