One of my BFFs recently shared some really great news that of course requires a I'm so happy for you card!! 🙂 I normally choose soft simple colors for her – so Primrose Petals and Pool Party are perfect – but when I saw the the color combo for this challenge I though it would be fun to play with the soft colors while adding that punch of Real Red and a lot of Basic Black. I love the way the card came out – it still has the soft look she loves but with a little different touch and a punch of bold color!

Stamps: Bloomin' Marvelous (Earn this free during Sale-a-bration, ask me how)

Inks: Primrose Petals, Pool Party, Real Red

Card stock: Basic Black, Primrose Petals, Pool Party, Very Vanilla

Tools: Scallop Border Punch

Accessories: Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Tea Lace Paper Doilies, Stampin' Dimensionals

Make sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary. And while you are there…make sure to sign up so you can play along!

Julie this is super cute! I love how you added the doily to the left side and the butterflies up the right–fun stuff. Smiles, Elizabeth

I like your color choices. Actually, I am now inspired to create my own birthday cards. Every time I have a friend who is celebrating his or her birthday, I give him or her a birthday card that I bought from the bookstore but because of your post, I think I should make some changes.

Much as I like to make customize greeting cards for my friends, I just
can’t because my color choices is very bad. I was not born with an
artist mind. But I’m trying. I get inspiration from others, just like
this post! You got simple yet attractive cards. Great!

Cards are really attractive. I do not know the term used to define a collector of cards but I am definitely one. I love creating and collecting cards and I am really enjoying reading your blogs.

I don’t have an artist in me but I know howe to appreciate good artwork, and let me tell you that your cards are simply beautiful. I would love to have this as greeting card.

Just this Mother’s Day, I went over this post and on your blog and looked for DIY card projects. I made one and gave it to my mother. She was really happy when she received it. Thanks!
