Debbie took these boring flat black flip flops and made them FABULOUS! This was one of prizes we gave away at our Punch Art Garden class back in May. If you want to see more of the prizes we gave away visit my Facebook Page and check out the photo album for Punch Art Garden Prizes.

To Create These Flip Flops:

Debbie started with simple Black Flip Flops and some Black and White Fun Foam.

  1. Using the Flower Daisies #2 Die. Cut two of each size daisy from White Fun Foam and two of each size flower from Black Fun Foam.
  2. Stack the daisies together following this pattern: Large white daisy, large black daisy, medium white daisy, medium black daisy, small white daisy, small black daisy.
  3. Stack one of the larger brads from the Filigree Designer Brads on top of your flowers. Insert a Clear Rhinestone brad through the Filigree Brad and all the flowers. Open the prongs in the back to hold everything together.
  4. Turn the petals of the flower so they are off set and the white peeks through between the black on each layer. Then press your brad firmly down on a hard surface. This should tighten everything up and keep it all in place.
  5. Repeat Step 2-4 to create your second flower.
  6. Hot Glue the flowers onto the strap of your Flip Flops.

The Big Shot makes this such a quick and easy project – I'm looking forward to trying it out for myself.  I have some flip flops in fun colors that I picked up on a $1 sale this spring and I'm going to play around with some other color combos and different dies.

If you want to view all the big shot dies avaliable from Stampin' Up! Shop Now on my SU site and look for the Die Cutting section!

Help!! I’ve cut my flowers, stacked them with the filigree brad and rhinestone brad but, the hole in the center is too big for the brad–what am I doing wrong?

    Hi Lorna,
You’re probably not doing anything wrong – the holes in the Daisy Die are a little big and it seems that sometimes the brad holds everything together and sometimes it’s a little too short. If you’re having trouble getting the brad to hold everything together just use a little of the Tombow Multi Purpose Glue from Stampin’ Up! around the center of each flower layer to hold everything together. Then open the brad and let it hold whatever it will. When you hot glue the flowers on that’ll help keep the brad from moving around.
    Hope that helps!
