Every year the residents at my Grandma's Retirement Community put together Easter Baskets to donate to a food pantry that they work with throughout the year. Each month they make sandwiches for the kids lunches – but around Easter time they try to pull together some extra donations and make up several Easter Baskets for the kids who might not get any Easter treats. This year Grandma wanted to put something homemade in the baskets. So I started thinking up ideas for her. Last month at stamp camp I had done Paper Carrots as one of our projects and I decided that would be perfect to add to the kids baskets.

The carrots were created by Die Cutting a Scallop Circle. Click Here to download an instruction .pdf.

In the instructions I used Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive to create the carrots (that's what we did at Stamp Camp) but I wanted a softer look for the kids to go with the pastel jelly beans we found so I used Only Orange and Certainly Celery for these carrots.

We created about 70 of these carrots for the Easter Baskets

We had fun with Grandma making the carrots. Today they got together to assemble all the baskets and she said they were a HIT! Everyone was excited to add a little something handmade into each kids basket.

PS – Sorry for the yucky lighting in these pictures – it was a gloomy day and I just couldn't get the colors to come out right – Hopefully this was still good eye candy for you though! 🙂

Happy Stampin'
