I just had my Stamp 'n Share Team Meeting for my Create, Ink! girls this past Friday. My assignment (that I gave myself) πŸ™‚ was to share some fabric crafting ideas with my team members. I wanted to give them some ideas for tools they can use in their business and also just some fun projects they can share! So I promise you I've got some fun paper crafting projects coming your way soon – but for all your fabric crafters out there, I'll be sharing some of the fun ideas I shared at the meeting with you over the next few days.

If you Love to applique – using the big shot will make quick work of cutting out intricate fabric shapes up to 8 layers at a time! If you're new to applique the Stampin' Up! Big Shot way is a great way to get started! I created this quilt square to show off how you can use the big shot to cut applique pieces and attach them to a quilt for a fun shabby chic look. I choose the little quilt squares because they're much smaller and easier to take to a workshop than a whole quilt – but can't you just imagine how fabulous a quilt would look if you appliqued each square with these flowers??

The petals for this flower were created by die cutting the fabric with the 5 Point 3D Star Bigz Die. There are score marks on this die so it's best to only cut two layers of fabric at a time instead of the normal eight layers of fabric you can usually cut with the Big Shot. But even cutting two layers at a time this went together SUPER quick.

The scallop circles in the center were cut using the Scallop Circles #2 Bigz die.

Because I wanted a raggy shabby look to the applique I used a big seam allowance around the shapes and did not use anything to attach the petals to the block before I sewed them in place. Of course if you wanted a cleaner look you could attach fusible webbing to your fabric before you die cut it then you could iron the petals into place and use a much smaller seam allowance around your shapes. This would give you much cleaner lines.

I got this idea from a project Stampin' Up! shared with us at Leadership and online. Here is the Quilt Square they created. They're using the same dies and putting it together differently to get a completely different flower.
