I had lots of fabric scraps leftover from creating my Rag Quilt Bags so I decided to decorate my Christmas packages with Quilted Flowers.
The flowers are very easy to make. I used the two middle size flowers from Stampin' Up! Flower Folds Die for the flowers and the Small Scallop Circle from the Scallop Circles #2 Die for the flower centers.
You simply Sandwich a die cut piece of batting between two pieces of die cut fabric and stitch around them with the sewing machine. Over time Then'll fray and rag up at the edges just like the bags! I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch a hold in the center of each flower, tied a knot in a piece of ribbon and then threaded the flowers onto the ribbon. Tie another knot in the back to hold everything in place and you're ready to decorate your packages.
For the Quilt Purses I made sure the flower matched the bag so they could tie the flowers on them.
This is my Christmas Bag – I decided since I made so many bags for gifts I needed to have one for myself too! 🙂
The flowers looked great on the white boxes but I also created some for presents wrapped in Gold and Silver
I have pictures of all the bags I created on my Inkredible Stamping Facebook page – Check it out and while you're there be sure to become a Fan so you can keep up with the fun extras I post there.
