I have been a very bad blogger the past couple of weeks, but I have a good reason. One of the light bulbs I use for lighting my photos burnt out and wouldn’t you know it, it’s a special order item!!! I’ve been waiting patiently (ok not really) for it to get here and it’s been so rainy and gloomy I haven’t even been able to take advantage of some good old fashioned natural light! π But finally the light bulb is here and I have light again!!
By now you all probably know how much I love the She’s All That stamp set. I didn’t think I would at first but I love working with the silhouette stamp sets. So for this month’s team meeting swap I decided to pull out more silhouette sets. Our challenge this month was to make spring cards. So I choose the Essence of Love stamp set to work with.
I’m not normally one to use brighter colors for spring cards but this year the bright colors seem to be speaking to me. I colored on the stamp with my Stampin’ Write Markers. I used Old Olive for the stems, Real Red for the flowers, and I touched a little Pumpkin Pie on the flowers after the red to give a little contrast. Then I used my paper distresser to rough up the edges of the image and the red mat a little. I think it fits in with the organic feel of the image. Here’s a close up of the distressing
In typical May fashion we had a lot of conflicts for the team meeting this month (May is always such a busy month) So I’m holding off on posting the team swaps from the meeting until next month when I’ll have everyone’s!
Happy Stampin’
