Many of you have been asking about how I organize my Stamp Supplies. So from time to time I’ll share some tips and helpful hints. I hope they will help you find a way to keep all your crafting items organized and easily accessible. I think my number 1 question lately has been about how I store my Punches. Who can blame you!! With Stampin’ Up! coming out with so many fabulous punches in the last catalog everyone seems to want them all!! So I though I would start with how I organize my Stampin’ Up! Punches…
My Punch Storage: For years I stored my punches in a rolling cart with several drawers from the office supply store. It worked great for keeping them organized but I always found myself forgetting to use the punches on a project. They were hidden away and just easy to forget about. So about a year ago I made a change on my Punch Storage and I’m so happy I did.
I found a Kitchen Rail System at Ikea – used as a pot rack and to organize Kitchen Supplies. I bought several of the rails and hung them downstairs between my Stamp Set Book Shelf and a doorway. They are snugly stored out of the way, yet I can see them easily and I remember to grab a few of them when I am creating.
In The first picture you’ll see that my wonderful Dad measured the heights of my Punches and he staggered the spaces between the rails, so I have some with more room for bigger punches and the ones near the bottom for the small punches are closer together. The second picture I took from more of an angel so you can see how the punches rest on the rail. Ikea doesn’t carry the exact rail system I used anymore, but they have one that will work just as well and you can order online. The Bygel Rail is just $1.99 per rail in the 21" length or $2.99 for the 39". It can’t get much cheaper than that!! π You can also experiment with using a close to the wall towel rack or a curtain rod for your storage.
If you don’t have the wall space for the rail system of storage or you’re looking for something a little different, here’s a few other ideas:
- My original Storage – A Rolling Cart from the Office Supply Store
- Use the Forget Me Not Keeper From Stampin’ Up! and place them on a book shelf.
- A clear over the door shoe holder works great, store a punch in each shoe spot.
- A Spice Rack that sits on your Kitchen Counter and sit on your desk with some punches on it.
- Get Creative and come up with your own ideas!! Leave a comment on this post and let us know what creative idea you’ve come up with to organize your punches! You never know who you’ll help out with your ideas!!
